Augmented Reality Pet Buddy: Interactive Augmented Reality Pet Companions App

Project Description
The Augmented Reality Pet Buddy is an innovative and interactive augmented reality (AR) app
that brings virtual pet companions to life. This app aims to provide users with a unique and
immersive pet ownership experience by leveraging cutting-edge AR technology, realistic
animations, and engaging interactions. Users can interact with their virtual pets in their
real-world surroundings, engage in training activities, and customize their pets' appearance and
environment. The app also includes social sharing features to connect with other virtual pet
owners and create a vibrant community.

Problem Statement
Many people desire the companionship and joys of having a pet but may be unable to
accommodate the responsibilities and limitations associated with real-life pet ownership.
Traditional virtual pet apps lack the level of interactivity and realism needed to create a truly
immersive and engaging pet ownership experience. There is a need for an augmented reality
pet companion app that bridges the gap between virtual and real-world interactions, providing
users with an authentic and satisfying pet ownership experience.

Aims/Goals of the project
● To develop an augmented reality app that allows users to experience the joys of pet
companionship through lifelike virtual pet companions.
● To leverage AR technology to create realistic and interactive interactions between users
and their virtual pets in their real-world surroundings.
● To provide a customizable and personalized experience, allowing users to choose from a
variety of virtual pet species, customize their appearance, and create a unique virtual pet
environment.
● To offer engaging training activities that allow users to teach their virtual pets new tricks
and skills, enhancing the bond between the user and their pet companion.
● To facilitate social sharing and community engagement, enabling users to connect with
other virtual pet owners, share experiences, and participate in virtual pet competitions
and challenges.
● To promote responsible virtual pet care by integrating reminders and notifications for
feeding, grooming, and nurturing the virtual pets within the app.
● To continually improve and enhance the app based on user feedback and evolving
technologies, providing a seamless and enjoyable augmented reality pet ownership
experience.

Idea
The Augmented Reality Pet Buddy app introduces lifelike virtual pet companions that users can
interact with in their real-world surroundings, providing a sense of companionship and joy
without the responsibilities of real pet ownership.

their virtual pet companions.

REFLECTIONS
Experience, Observation & Findings


During the course, I gave my best effort to complete all the assignments, and I gained a lot of knowledge from Mr. Razif, our instructor. The assignments allowed me to explore new areas which is learning the new software called UNITY, which I found it was really super duper challenging since I wasn't skilled in them. It was really struggle during the course, but I persisted and felt a sense of accomplishment by the end which I'm still able to come out in the end, not the best but at least I try it.

Throughout the 14 weeks, I felt incredibly happy with the progress I made. I could see growth in my abilities with to know and able to learn the software and the skills I developed through the assignments, the knowledge and exploration I gained made it all worthwhile.

In summary, this course has been a turning point for me. Though I faced difficulties initially, I've experienced significant personal and professional growth. I feel proud and grateful for this valuable experience. It was a fruitful journey, and I genuinely developed a passion for the subject. I'm delighted with the outcome and consider it an incredible journey.
